The Space Station - Tribute to Metal Hurlant - Poster

The Space Station - Tribute to Metal Hurlant depicts a sprawling orbital city drifting across a field of stars. Fine, precise lines build up hull panels, vents, pylons and docking rings, forming a layered cathedral of engineering. Behind it, pale solar yellow gives way to deep cobalt, making the structure appear sunlit on one side and still on the other.

We drew on the retro-futurist spirit of comics, with crisp outlines, restrained crosshatching and bold silhouettes that stand out across a room and reveal more on closer inspection. Tiny moons and pinpoint stars suggest the vastness of space. You can almost imagine the soft hum of the systems and the distant blip of radar. No helmet needed.

• Palette: midnight blue, solar yellow, graphite grey and touches of warm brass.
• Ambience: calm, technical and gently nostalgic.
• Details: modular pods, banks of antennae, glazed observation tubes and sharply defined shadows.
• Styling tips: hang it above a desk or media unit; it works well with concrete textures, walnut furniture and steel accents.

This poster comes in several sizes, ready to take centre stage on a workspace, gaming-room or studio wall. We created it as a tribute to the graphic audacity of Metal Hurlant, balancing intricate detail with a clean composition, so it makes its presence felt without dominating the room. Choose a size to suit your space, whether in a London flat or a country home, and let the station settle quietly into orbit.
