Still life with ‘La Danse’ (1909) by Henri Matisse - Poster

Henri Matisse turns a tabletop into a scene full of movement. In Still Life with Dance (1909), a vase of cut flowers, a crate of citrus fruit and a cloth covered in banana-yellow curls take centre stage in front of the famous ring of dancers. Rich cobalt and fresh green sit alongside coral pink and inky outlines, while the angled surface guides your eye around the composition. It’s Matisse at his best: bold colour, expressive lines and the joyful spirit of Fauvism.

This print brings life to dining nooks and studios alike. Hang it on a crisp white wall, pair it with walnut or rattan for warmth, then pick out a single accent colour, blue or yellow, elsewhere in the room.
