A dreamy panorama in pink and lilac. The pond reflects a pale sky, and a few clusters of lily pads with white and yellow flowers float across it in loose groups. At the bottom, a hint of green grass blurs into the water.
This late canvas belongs to the large decorative cycle Monet worked on until his death in 1926. In 1918, the day after the armistice, he offered the French state a set of water lily panels as a monument to peace. They were installed in the Orangerie in 1927.
Soft and enveloping, it is a beautiful piece above a bed or a sofa, or in a bathroom. Our Claude Monet posters include water lilies from every period. For the story of the Orangerie gift, read our article on Monet. Several sizes, framed or not.
