No banks, no bridge, no sky: only the surface of the pond. Green and yellow lily pads float in clusters with red and pink flowers, and between them the water reflects the blue of the sky and the dark mass of the willows above.
In the last ten years of his life, Monet painted the pond at Giverny on huge canvases, working in a studio built specially for them. These panoramic views, which he called his Grandes Décorations, led to the Water Lilies rooms of the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris. Because this canvas is very wide, we print it with a light border so the whole panorama is kept.
Immersive and calm, it is ideal above a sofa, a bed or a long sideboard. Our Monet posters include water lilies from every period. Our article on his water garden tells how it all began. Several sizes.
