Exclusive Posterscape Art
FSC-certified paper
A red lacquer tray on a white tablecloth holds a teapot and two cups in blue-and-white porcelain. On the left, a plant with large silvery leaves grows in a matching pot, and a spoon lies on the linen in the foreground. The background is a plain brown wall.
Monet painted this small still life in 1872, at a time when Japanese and Chinese objects were all the rage in Paris. The red tray and the blue porcelain show his taste for these colours, which he would later use in his dining room at Giverny, painted entirely in yellow with blue china.
Elegant and graphic, it is a refined choice for a kitchen, a dining room or a tea corner. Our Claude Monet prints and posters include his fruit and flower still lifes too. For his love of Japanese art, read our article on Monet. Several sizes.
