A green riverbank sweeps in from the left and curves away into the distance, following the bend of the Seine. The water is a calm grey-blue, the hills on the far side are covered with trees and fields, and above, a sky crowded with small white and blue clouds takes up half the canvas.
From his house at Vétheuil, Monet could watch the river in every season. Here he paints it on a windy day, with the clouds moving fast and the light changing across the hills. The canvas is long and low, and we print it with a light border so that the whole bend of the river is kept.
Open and airy, it suits a living room, a study or a hallway. Our Claude Monet prints and posters include many views of the Seine around Vétheuil. Our article on Monet tells the story of his years there. Several sizes.
