Stand at the foot of this building and look upwards: its balconies turn into a staircase for giants.
Heavy concrete slabs are stacked one above another, each projecting at an angle and casting a dark strip of shadow across the next. On the left, a lower tower has small windows. To the right, another wing disappears into the pale sky. The steep perspective gives the scene a slight sense of vertigo.
There’s an honesty to the design that we appreciate. No decoration, no cladding, nothing disguising what it is: just the structure, exactly as it stands. This is the thinking behind the prints in our brutalist architecture collection.
Its wide format and gentle greys make it easy to live with. It would sit well in a study, hallway or on a stairwell wall, from a London terrace to a modern flat. Several sizes are available.
