This is concrete, seen at close quarters. No buildings or sky, only the wall itself.
A handful of joints divides the surface into broad panels. Scratches, marks, tiny holes and air bubbles cover each one. Some patches are smooth, while others feel coarse. The light picks out every detail, giving the wall the texture of an old giant’s skin.
The poster has the quality of an abstract painting, with the depth and subtlety of a Rothko in shades of grey. Like his work, it makes its impact quietly, through texture and tonal shifts.
It sits comfortably in a minimalist sitting room, bathroom or study, adding a calm, mineral feel. It can also be paired with more colourful artwork for contrast. Choose from several sizes.
Raw concrete, or béton brut, is at the heart of our brutalist architecture collection. Curious how it gave brutalism its name? Explore our article on the movement’s origins.
