A green hillside dominates the painting, formed from thousands of little brushstrokes that resemble knitted fabric. A bright meadow runs across the slope halfway up. At the foot of the hill, beside the lake, sits a small village of white houses with red roofs. A few clouds appear at the very top.
Litzlberg is a village on the Attersee, where Klimt spent his summers. He painted it in 1914–1915, using the high horizon and square format he favoured. After spending decades in a museum in Salzburg, the painting was returned to the original owner's heirs in 2011.
With its fresh green tones, this print suits a living room, bedroom or home office, and looks lovely alongside the other Attersee scenes in our Gustav Klimt prints. Choose from several sizes, with a frame available as an option.
