Try to spot the person. Take your time.
They’re tiny, walking near the bottom left, almost disappearing between two rows of towering concrete walls. The fins stretch into the distance as sunlight filters between them, casting bright diagonal stripes across the ground. At the far end, the passage dissolves into a hazy glow.
This is architecture with a cinematic quality. The scale, the repetition, the light: every detail seems made for one fleeting moment. It’s the image we turn to when someone asks what brutalism feels like, rather than what it looks like.
The portrait format draws your gaze upwards, making it well suited to a narrow wall, a staircase or the end of a corridor, including one in a British home. Available in several sizes.
Explore more of these moods in our brutalist architecture poster collection. If the way light plays across concrete catches your eye, find out why brutalist buildings photograph so well.
