This print has the look of an old archive photograph, which is precisely what drew us to it.
A boxy building stands on a dark lawn, its walls clad in a chequerboard of textured panels. Storm clouds gather overhead, swallowing much of the sky. A few cars from another era are parked by the entrance. In the corner of the original photograph, someone has even scrawled “TOP”, a small note left by a previous handler. We chose to leave it in.
Grainy detail, deep shadows and slightly dramatic lighting give the image a cinematic feel. It could be the opening shot of a 1960s film about a secret research laboratory.
In a study, beside a home library or in a contemporary living room, it adds a sense of history and intrigue. The poster comes in several sizes, suited to homes across the UK.
